…with the wintertime sickness. Sneezing, coughing, fever, feeling like our heads are soon to explode… At first it was only Tim, but I joined him quickly, and so now here we are, sitting in our apartment after a second full day of just that, sitting in our apartment.
I walk that fine line between homebody and I’ve-gotta-get-out-and-do-something, so there’s a part of me that has soaked up this time, not feeling obligated to do anything (not even change out of my pajamas, or put on makeup) but spend time with my handsome man, watching movies, talking, napping, and eating simple foods that require little to no preparation. There’s also a part of me that’s more than ready to get out and work out or see friends. This time of rest and recovery has been so needed, though. I’m thankful to have such a wonderful guy to do it with. Even with his hurting head, Tim has been selflessly making sure that I’m taking my medicine/vitamins and drinking enough water and hot tea. Such a dear, that man!
If I’m being totally honest, yesterday wasn’t ENTIRELY rest and recovery. We made a bit of a mistake, but at the same time, I don’t regret it. Not one bit. Because yesterday we got snow, which is a rare occurrence in our neck of the woods! We made the decision to ignore our sicknesses, go outside, meet up with some neighbor friends, and enjoy the cold and snowy magic. It was a wonderful time, consisting of making a snow man (Flake McFrosty) and delicious snow cream. Never mind the fact that when it was all said and done, we both felt even worse than we did before, resulting in a multi-hour nap and an abundance of coughs and sneezes. It was worth it. Here are some photos from our snowy adventure:
It was a lovely time, and I’d do it again, regardless of the ill effect it had on our bodies. So worth it. Snow is pretty much equivalent to real, actual magic here in Arkansas. So, here’s to hoping for a full recovery ASAP, and to good memories made.
