Clean Eating Update: Day 68!

Hello, hello! It’s been a while since my last clean eating post, hasn’t it?

Well, here’s what I have to say about this journey I’ve been on: It’s been such a game changer. I absolutely love this way of eating and the way it makes me feel! I’ve experienced little to none of my old symptoms (fatigue, headaches, shakiness, dizziness, mood swings, joint pain, bad blood flow, and more) over the last 68 days!

  Let me make it clear, I haven’t been 100% flawlessly clean eating for the entirety of this time. This is a long-term, lifestyle change, so I’m trying to be practical by not holding myself to perfection. I’d say that 75-80% of my meals over the last 68 days have been totally clean. I’ve eaten some not-so-clean things in social situations, which I’m totally okay with (although, I must say, any small symptoms that I have felt have been following these times).

Georgie and I found a veggie wall last week. It seems very relevant for this post!

Eating clean takes more thought and preparation, but the benefits far outweigh the costs. My skin is clearer, I have energy to work out every day, I’m rarely bloated, I’m sleeping so much better, my mood is much more stable, and I’ve even lost a few pounds! These awesome results, combined with the negative stuff I tend to feel after eating processed food, are a very real incentive for me to continue this lifestyle long-term! I’m still a beginner at this, so friends, all advice is welcome!

But really… if there’s anything that’s becoming clear to me from this, its that life is better in so many ways when we are taking great care of our bodies! Also, it’s become very clear to me that sweet potatoes in all of their forms are a beautiful gift from heaven.

So long friends. I’m craving an avocado!

My life has DRASTICALLY improved since eating clean and it’s so hard to convince people that they will feel all of these benefits when they just stick with it! I love hearing about other people’s personal experiences with it, and I’m really glad you feel so great 🙂

  2. I can so relate! Eating clean feels so good… It’s addicting! The change is difficult, but once your body is used to it, it CRAVES the right stuff. Also, loooooove your cute style! 👠🕶👗

  3. This is awesome. I changed my diet up for lent (fasted for 40 days) and I felt a ton better. In the post I wrote about it I talked about how I developed joint pain and swelling (I don’t believe it was attributed to the fast). I think it’s soooo interesting that eating clean eliminated your joint pain. Towards the halfway point of my fast I eliminated all gluten but I didn’t notice a difference in my joints. Now I’m now going to try eating clean! Thanks for the inspo!

    1. My favorite thing to eat… Oh my! Possibly sweet potatoes. I also love strawberries. And oatmeal! And I use a Canon T2i normally, but all of these were taken on my iPhone! Thanks so much for reading, Nicole!

  6. I’m embarking on clean eating too. Have been doing so for a few weeks now. I totally agree to your philosophy of clean eating being a lifestyle and not just a fad. So having to still enjoy some other stuff once in a while instead of totally inhibiting ourself from it is the way to go. Love it that I found someone with the same thoughts on clean eating 😍
